depends upon vacancies UPSC conducts SPECIAL CLASS RAILWAY APPRENTICE EXAM once/twice a year.

The number of times the SCRA EXAMS are conducted in an year by the UPSC usually depends upon the number of engineers required by the Railways to be recruited.
So sometimes,the exams were conducted twice in an year.
But now the exams are conducted only once in an year,in January mostly,as the number of posts are very limited.

Hi actually SCRA is supposed to be conducted once in two years but due to sudden vacancies created the exam was held thrice between dec. 2010 and jan. 2012

Hiii friend ....to SCRA exam your age should not be above 19 years SCRA exam is conducted sometimes once and sometimes twice per a year that can be depend on the number of vacancies they have .......first you have to prepare well then you can apply when the notifiction will be released...any way my friend all the best ...

SCRA is Special Class Railway Apprentice, and this exam is conducted for filling vacancies in railway.
the reason of SCRA is conducted sometimes once and sometimes twice a year is
depends upon the number of vacancy in railways.

IT is solely on the requirement in the particular year by the railway and availability of the structure to trained those extra candidates in the Establishment of the railway. Some time due to non-availability of the suitable arrangements they take less number candidates & later on these they conducts it for the further vacancy.

1. age within 17-21 years
2.unmarried male
3. 10+2 with physics , maths as compulsary having atleast 60% aggregate of these two.
