As per the updates..I understood we need to appear for upsc examination for getting into vigilance..
But last year I read in some newspaper..I think it's employment newspaper....that there is a direct examination for vigilance as we do for bank examinations...am I correct ??? If yes...how to apply it ? I too remember..there is a portal for it to register for examination...can u pls clarify....how to get into vigilance department...currently am a software engineer....

To enter in Vigilence Department, you have to appear the Civil Service Aptitude Test for Indian Police Service which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
