    No dear,
    all the candidates of engineering are not eligible for upsc exams .

    Look into the attachment to know the candidates who can apply for upsc.

    IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service Examination , this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year and minimum qualification for this examination is that the candidate have to completed Engineering degree of a recognized University , Final year of degree may also eligible to apply .

    This year notification was already released and the examination was already completed on 15/June/2012 . Next notification will be publish in the month of Feb OR March in the official website of Union Public Service Commission as well as employment news paper .

    ~~ Both Men and Women candidates are eligible to apply .
    ~~ The Engineering degree in Civil , Mech , Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering , Electrical .
    ~~ Final year of degree course may also eligible to apply .
    ~~ Selection Process :- Written exam , Personal Interview .

    Note :- Pre-final year of degree may not eligible to apply . Those who have not studied above branches then the candidate opt this branches for this examination .

    ~~ Application forms are accepted in only online mode and there is no offline mode .

    no dear ,
    all t\he engineering students are not eligible for upsc ies exam .

    read the notification to know from which branch candidates are eligible for the same.

    dear friend,

    yes, all the engineering students from any branch are eligible to apply for UPSC IES exam.

    the exam is only conducted in the following areas of engineering:

    1. Civil Engineering
    2.Mechanical Engineering
    3.Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
    4.Electrical Engineering

    so you can only give the exam as upper listed branches and you have to select the subjects from upper listed branches.

    Yes Dear; the engineering students are eligible for the UPSC IES Exam.
    In fact this exam is conducted for engineers only.

    This exam is called UPSC Engineering Services Exam for recruitment of Engineers in various government organisations.
    The eligibility for the Exam is-
    A degree in Engineering from a recognized University or eqivalent. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subject acceptable for certain Services/posts only.
    There is also an age limit of 21-30 years for the applicants.

    no dear,

    all the engineering students are not eligible to give the ies examination

    only those engineering students who are from electrical /civil/mechanical/telecommunications are eligible to apply.

    The IES examination is conducted by the UPSC in every year. Here i give you the details eligibility criteria for the IES examination.

    Eligibility Criteria for the IES examination.
    ->Degree in B.Tech from a recognize University.
    ->The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of the examination.

    Note :- Computer Science and IT branch is not eligible for the IES examination.

    So, if you are a engineering candidates and if you satisfy the above eligibility criteria then you are eligible to apply for the IES examination.

    Dear Applicant,
    -YES.
    ALL ENGINEERING GRADUATES ARE APPLICABLE FOR THE IES exams.

    The ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for the
    IES exams are mentioned below ::

    01. NATIONALITY.
    You must be a citizen of India,
    or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
    or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in
    India before 1962.

    02. AGE LIMITS.
    You must be 21 TO 30 YEARS OF AGE.
    However the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and upto 3 years for OBC candidates.

    03. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.

    You must have completed your BTech from a recognized university with any subject or stream.
    Final year students are also applicable.
    However you will have to appear from within Electrical Engineering,Civil Engineering,Mechanical Engineering & Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

    Sir, i am pursuing Btech course in Tool Engineering from GGSIPU,i want 2 know whethr v can apply for upsc ies exam or not?
    our stream is core mechanical but on degree it will be written Tool Engineering rather than mechanical.But i have checked the syllabus do match.
    will upsc consider us eligible for the IES exam??

    Sir, I am a student of Tool Engineering from GGSIPU. i want to know whether we can apply for UPSC ies exam or not? because the degree that we will get will have Tool engineering written on it but upsc eligibility crieterion is of pure mechanical.Our stream is core mechanical i.e. mechanical + production.can v apply by filling in the form mechanical stream? our syllabus do match with that of ies mechanical. DO reply!thank you!

    for Engineering services you should have following minimum educational qualification:

    a)obtained a degree in engineering from an recognized university.

    so if you have a degree from a recognized university you are eligible.

    b)obtained a degree/diploma in engineering from a foreign university which is recognized by the government of india.

    c)passed sections A and B of the institution examination of the institution of engineers

    etc...

    the following are the categories:
    1)electrical engg
    2)electronics and telecommunication engg
    3)civil engg
    4)mechanical engg.

    YES,all the students of engineering are eligible for the IES examinations but the condition is that they have to take the subjects of the following four branches of engineering only:

    >>Civil engineering

    >>mechanical engineering

    >>Electrical engineering

    >>electronics and telecommunications.


    Age limitations:

    >>General: 21-30 years

    >>obc: 21-33 years

    >>sc/st: 21-35 years.


    It consists of:

    >>Written examination.

    >>Personal interview.

    please note that an engineering degree is the minimum qualification. It can be in any stream such as CSE,IT, tool engg, mechanical , biomedical , ECE,EEEetc
    But you have to write exam in one of the four subjects - mechanical, civil, electrical, electronics and telecommunication. kindly read the notifications carefully

    well the answer to your question is NO.
    all engineering students are not eligible to apply for IES.

    only the students of the following stream or courses can apply for the IES examination.
    1. Civil Engineering
    2.Mechanical Engineering
    3.Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
    4.Electrical Engineering.

    while other can't apply for this examination as per upsc.
    they can apply for the upsc civil services examination for the post of IAS or IUP.
    the age limit to apply for this examination is 21-30 years .
