Re: Are EIE (Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering) students eligible for IES (Indian Engineering Services) exam?

    Dear Friend

Yes,why not ,Electrical and instrumentation candidates are eligible for the Indian Engineering services examinations conducted by the Union Public service commission every year.

Friend the most suitable stream from which you can select your conventional papers is the Electrical engineering because of the fact that candidates from streams other than :

    1.Civil engineering

    2.Electrical engineering

    3.Mechanical engineering

4.Electronics and communication engineering, have to select their conventional papers from these core branches only.

Other than academic qualifications ,some of the other requirements are as below:

    1.Age limitations:

    >>The age limit for the general candidates are 21-30 years .

    >>FOR OBC it is 21-33 years

    >>For SC/St: 21-35 years

    2.No of attempts:

    >>General candidates :4

    >>OBC;7

    >>SC/ST; no restriction .

Let me tell you the examination pattern of this exam which is as below:

The important date for the IES 2013 are as below:

    Date of notification:16/03/2013

    Last date of receiving application:15/04/2013

    Date of examinations:28/06/2013.

For online application you may visit www.upsconline.nic.in.
