My name is Adithya, DOB: 09/04/1991, age: 21years. I am presently doing my final semester in Mechanical Engineering, am i eligible for appearing for IES 2013? Also, What are the application dates for IES 2013 and how should i download the application form? This is first post in this forum and I am unaware if this topic has been discussed before.

yes you can apply for any upsc exams while you are in final year and so that right now you have one application for "civil services" so you can apply for it now..

and for that you have to fill the form nline from "www.upsc.gov.in" and you have to select payment mode and you have done..

You are definitely eligible for IES exam as you are in final semester which is ok as per UPSC criterias.You are also above the minimum age limit.The notification will appaer on 6th April 2013 so you need to wait till that.You do not need to download the application form.There is provision for filling the form online and there is nothing to download.You should check the website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in after 6th April and read the notification carefully and fill the form as after.

Oh sure you can apply this examination because you doing mechanical engineering so you are eligible for this examination and i will give more information about IES..

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service Exam This exam is conducted by union public service commission and this exam is conducted by every year .in ies exam have four category's there are

=>Civil Engineering
=>Mechanical Engineering
=>Electrical Engineering
=>Electric and Telecommunication Engineering.

in the above category candidates only eligible for this examination .but you don't worry you are eligible because you doing mechanical Engineering.

=>you must be citizen of india
=>your age limit should between 21 to 30 year and upper age relaxation is applicable for sc/st and obc Caste candidates.
=>you should be complete the Engineering degree in recognized university and final year student's also eligible for this examination.

for giving the IES exam you can apply being in the final year of your engineering degree. For this, the application forms will be released in the month of april and the exam will be held in june or july, for the exact dates andc confirmation. You should visit the official website of the upsc regularly.
