Candidates who have obtained degree in distance learning mode are eligible to apply for UPSC Exams. The basic educational criteria says that the candidate should have degree from a recognized university.
The other eligibility criteria are as follows:
The age of the candidate should lie in between 21-30 years.
The nationality of candidate should be Indian.
The maximum number of attempts for General category is 4 times.

The degree from the distance mode has the same value and importance that is of a regular degree.The distance mode of education is very much valid for all types of government and private jobs.
The distance mode was started by the government of Indian in order to provide assistance to those who can not study due to financial reasons as they have to earn for their livelihood,it was started so that one can study and at the same time can do their job.
So it has the same validity and importance as that of regular studies.
As a graduate from arts you can apply for the IAS(Indian Administrative Services),IPS(Indian Police Services).
CPF(Central Police Force)
CDSE(Combined Defence Service Examination)-for the defence services that is army,navy and air force.
