The acronym for IFS is Indian Forest Services.
The eligibility criteria required for the IFS examination are prescribed as below:-
* Age limit:- 21-30 yrs.
* Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC, 5 yrs for SC/ST and 10 yrs for PWD contenders.
* Nationality:- Indian.
* Completion of graduation in any of these disciplines(Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, Agriculture Engineering, Forestry Engineering) from any recognized college or university.
* Final year contenders are also eligible.
* Percentage criteria is not required.

Qualification required-
bachelor degree in animal husbandry , vatenary, science,. botany, physics, chemistry , maths, statistics, zoology or a bachelor degree in engineering, forestry fom a recognised university to apply for the same.
Written examination pattern-
Conventional type paper part 1 general english of 300 marks.
Part 2 general knowledge of 300 marks.
Paper 3, 4,5 and 6 any twosubjects to be selected from the listy of optional subjects.
Each two paper 200 marks for each paper.
Total marks should be 1400 in written.
