Eligibility for IAS Examination

You must posses a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university and if you are pursuing final year of degree or appearing for final year examination or awaited for final year/semester examination result then also you are eligible to apply

Your age should be between 21-30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government norms that is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

If you have completed your bachelor's degree with English as Honors then you are eligible because any degree graduates are eligible to apply for this examination

This year's Civil Service Examination notification has been released and last date of online application has been over and civil service preliminary examination has been conducted at 26th of May 2013 and mains examination will be conducted at 1st of December 2013 so you can not apply for this year's civil service examination

You must not wait for next year's notification and just use the time because you have 1 year to appear for next year civil service preliminary examination and prelims is mandatory to be qualified because to be eligible for mains examination, you should have passed preliminary examination of this process so just start your preparation through any good coaching institute and if you do not want to prepare through coaching institute then you must use various books available in market to prepare for this exam and try to give at least 10 hours everyday for study then only you will be able to get qualified in this examination
