    Dear Aspirant,
    -The CIVIL SERVICES Exams,known to as the UPSC exam to many,are conducted annually by the UPSC.
    - Having completed 32 years of age,You can appear for this exam only under the circumstances that you are entitled to a relaxation of any sort.
    The upper age limit for General Category student is 30 Years.

    � The COMPLETE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA of
    the CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS are mentioned
    below :

    [01] NATIONALITY.
    You must be a citizen of India,
    or,You must very a subject of Nepal or
    Bhutan,
    or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled
    permanently in India before 1962.

    [02] AGE LIMITS.
    You must be 21 To 30 Years of age.
    However,the upper age limit is relaxable by-
    # 5
    Years for SC/ST
    # 5 Years for Ex-Servicemen
    # 5 Years for Government employees.
    # 3 Years for OBC
    Candidates.
    # 3 Years for Physically Disabled.

    [03] EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
    You must have completed your Graduation or
    Equivalent,from a recognized University,with any subject combination.
    Only passing percentage is essential.
    Final year appearing students are also applicable.

    � From here,You can check out whether you are entitled to any relaxation in the upper age limit or not.
    If yes,then you can definitely appear for the UPSC Civil Services exams.

    dear to apply in upsc age of the candidate must lie between 21 to 30 years.
    but candidates who belongs to OBC and SC/ST category gets age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.
    so if you are a candidate belonging to general category then you cannot apply for the upsc exam because your date of birth is not eligible but if you belongs to OBC or SC/ST then you can apply upto the age of 33 and 35 years.

    Hi Friend!!

    First, you need to know what is UPSC.

    UPSC is Union Public Service Commission which conducts many exams in which Civil Service Exam(CSE).

    CSE has a misnomer as 'IAS exam' or 'UPSC exam'.

    Qualification for the CSE:

    Educational Qualifications: Graduation

    Age: General:21-30yrs, OBC:21-33yrs, SC/ST:21-35yrs

    Note: There's a considerable age relaxation for the categories like Ex-service men, Blind, Deaf-Mute etc.


    The answer to your question is yes if you belonged to other categories than General

    , as per eligibility criteria you are not eligible to apply for the UPSC examination. Here i give you the details eligibility criteria :

    Eligibility Criteria for the UPSC Examination :-
    ->Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognize university. Final year candidates may also apply.
    ->The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of examination. Age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category candidates.

    If you belong to the general category then as per eligibility criteria you are not eligible to apply the UPSC examination.

    the age limit to apply for the upsc exam is 21-30 years for the general category aspirants .

    so if you are general category aspirant
    then its a NO!!!!!!!!!!!

    there is an age relaxation of 5 years for the SC/ST candidates
    while for the OBC aspirants there is an age relaxation of 3 years.

    according to which

    age limit becomes 21-33 years for the obc category
    age limit becomes 21-35 years for the sc/st aspirants.


    if you belong to sc/st or the OBC category then you can apply for the upsc exam.

    Hello friend,
    If you are belongs to General category then you can not apply for the UPSC exam.
    Because for General minimum age required 21 year & maximum 30 year on 1st August on the year of examination.
    Upper age limit relaxed by 3 year for OBC & 5 year for SC/ST.
    The Upper age limit is also relaxed in favour of Defence service personnel.

    Dear,
    If you belong to the unreserved category then sorry to say you are not eligible for the exam
    If you belong to the reserve category then you are eligible for the exam.
    Age limit for the exam is the 21 to 30 years.
    Age relaxation for the reserve category reserved category
    3 years for the obc category
    5 years for the SC/ST category.
    If you belong to reserve categories then you are eligible for the exam.

    Dear Friend

    If you belong General Category then you are not eligible for UPSC exam

    There is minimum age limits :

    For General category 21-30 year
    For OBC category 21-33 year
    For SC/ST category 21-35 year

    Ex-servicemen +5 year
    Physical Handicapped +10 year

    So dear you can not apply because you are over age

    Friend you can apply for UPSC Exam at the age of 32 years only if you belong to reserved category. You cannot apply for UPSC Exam if you belong to General category.
    The Age Limit criteria for most of the UPSC Exams are as follows:
    General 21-30 yrs
    SC/ST 21-35 yrs
    OBC 21-33 yrs
    PH 21-40 yrs

    The Other Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
    Educational Qualification

    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university
    Final year degree students are also eligible
    Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university

    Number of attempts permitted
    General 4
    OBC 7
    PH 7
    SC/ST No Limit

    Nationality should be Indian.

    First of all let me know your CATEGORY

    Anyways I am Giving you the various details below ..


    For OBC -- Age is ( 21 to 33 years )

    For SC / ST -- Age is ( 21 to 35 years )

    For OC -- Age is ( 21 to 30 years )


    If you are a OC students then you ARE NOT ELIGIBLE to apply for the exam

    If you are from general category then you can't apply but if you are from sc/st/armed forces you can get an age relaxation upto 5 years.

    At the age of 32 years,if you are from the general category then you can not apply.Otherwise if you have an reservation then you can apply it.
    Here is the age limit under reservation:
    SC/ST age limit 21 to 35 years and the number of attempts is NO Limit.
    OBC age limit 21 to 33 years and the number of attempts is 7
    Physically Handicapped age limit 21 to 40 and the number of attempts is 7

    The candidates must be citizen of Indian:

    -The candidates must be complete graduation degree in any recognized university

    We are really sorry to say sir that you are not eligible to apply for UPSC exams because you have crossed your maximum age limit which is required by UPSC board in various exam

    Age limit for UPSC - Civil Service, Forest Service, Engineering Service, Police Service, Economic Service

    Should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which are as

    5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen category candidates

    If you belongs from any one of the above mentioned reserved categories then you may get the upper age relaxation as mentioned above and you will be eligible to apply for various UPSC exams but if you are under general category then you can not apply for any UPSC examination because of your over age

    SC/ST - 21-35 years

    OBCs - 21-33 years

    PWDs - 21-40 years

    Ex-Servicemen - 21-35 years
