while pursuing the first year BA you can not apply for the upsc graduation based examination.
you can apply for all the graduation based examination conducted by upsc in your final year or
after completing your graduation. also for these examination you must attain the age of 21 years .
OBC and SC/ST category gets an age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.

after graduation you can apply for

Central Police Forces Examination (CPF)
Civil Services Examination
Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS)

but examinations such as
Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam(SCRA)
National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination (NDA/NA)

are 12th based examinations for which
you can apply fulfilling the eligibility criteria for these examinations .

for Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam(SCRA)

* CANDIDATE must have passed 12th board examinations with maths, physics and chemistry .

* CANDIDATE must be an INDIAN.(both males and females are eligible to apply)

* the age of the CANDIDATE must be between 17-21 years .

for National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination (NDA/NA)

* CANDIDATE should passed 10+2 from recognized board with
mathematics,physics and english.

* CANDIDATE must be an unmarried INDIAN male.(females are not eligible to apply)

* Age of the CANDIDATE must lie between 16.5 to 19 years.

you have donot mentioned which upsc exam as there are lots of upsc examinations conducted every year.

I think you are talking about civil services examinations.

sorry ,your are not eligible for the civil services examinations in first year of bachelor of arts.

final year candidates are only allowed to apply for the exam and one who has passed the graduation is eligible for the examination.

Age limitations:

General: 21-30 years

Obc: 21-33 years

sc/st: 21-35 years


THis examination consists of three stages :

>>preliminary called csat

>>main examination

>>Personal interview

No of attempts:

>>general: 4

>>obc:7

>>sc/st: no limit.
