The qualification for the UPSC examination is to pass the Bachelor degree at any recognized university in any discipline. The age must be within 21-30 years. So you have to complete your degree course at first. But now you can only try to understand the pattern of the examination and can also prepare for it from very now so that you can easily got your aim after your Bachelors degree course. Thanks....

you are eligible to give upsc exam at the final year of your graduation provided you complete 21 years of age as on august in the year of examination.so now concentrate on you preparation.so that you can appear confidently in once you complete 21 years of age.good luck.

it is good that you want to go for civil services examination for serve the nation.
you are not eligible for civil services examination right now because the minimum qualification required for the same is graduation.
see the qualification criteria(S) required to be fulfill by the candidate who wish to appear in the cse examination.
eligibility criteria:-
*you must be the citizen of India.
* you must be the a graduate /appeared in final year with a govt. recognized
university.
age criteria:-
*for general :-21-30 years.
*for obc:- 21-33 years.
*for sc/st :-21-35 years.
so i advise you that first you should complete your graduation with good marks and than apply for the same with full preparation.
Sorry dear,you are not applicable to give the UPSC examinations like civil services,Indian engineering services,Combined defence services etc while pursuing your second year of bachelor of technology.
However if your age is below 21 years ,then you can give the Special class railway apprentice examination
The minimum educational requirement for all the these examinations is bachelor's degree from a recognised university.Final year candidates are allowed to give the UPSC examinations

As you have mentioned here that you are currently pursuing 2nd year B.Tech and want to give UPSC Exams , then my friend one thing i would like to tell you that unfortunately you cannot give the UPSC Exams right now because you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria for UPSC Exams .
The Eligibility Criteria for Most of the UPSC Exams are :
* You must have completed your graduation from any recognized college/university.
* Final Year students can also give the exam.
* Your age must be in between 21-30 years.
* There is also a relaxation in upper age of 3 years for students belonging to OBC Category and 5 years if you belong to SC/ST Category.
* The maximum number of attempts allowed if you are a General Category Student is 4 times.
* For OBC Category , maximum number of attempts - 7
* For SC/ST Category , maximum number of attempts - No Limit.

As now you are pursuing Btech 2nd year so now you are not eligible for the test but once you complete your btech i.e graduation you will be eligible for it and other eligiblity criteria is as folows:

NO YOU CAN NOT APPLY FOR THE UPSC EXAMS IN THE 2nd YEAR OF YOUR COURSE.
The all UPSC exams require a minimum qualification of graduation,most of the UPSC exams,there are only two exam which is conducted by the UPSC but is of 10+2 level.As you are currently in the 2nd year of your course,you will have to wait till you reach the final year,once you are in the final year,you can apply for the UPSC exams or else after completing the degree.The final year candidates are applicable or the one who have completed the degree,so wait till your degree is completed.
