No,sir you can not join as an army officer through upsc with 12th as you educational qualification only.
Sir, you are to go through combined defence service examination which is conducted bu upsc every year.
To become an officer in army you are to complete atleast graduation degree from a recognized university in any discipline.

You can become a army officer through upsc on the after complete the +2 class.

If you complete the +2 class with science subject, then you are eligible for the exam.

Eligibility criteria for the NDA Exam:-

Age limit for the exam is 16.5 years to 19 years.

There is no age relaxation for the reserve category.

For this exam only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this exam.

Female candidate are not eligible for the exam.

Qualification is required +2 passed/appear with the science subject from the recognized board.

You can apply the examination form by online method or offline method.

NDA exam conducted bi-annually.

Exam completes in one day.

Yes you can join army as an officer through upsc with 12th as your qualification.
But there only one way and that's through NDA exam.
Applicants to the NDA are selected via a written exam conducted by the UPSC, followed by extensive interviews covering general aptitude, psychological testing, team skills as well as physical and social skills, along with medical tests. Incoming classes are accepted twice a year for semesters starting in July and January. About 320,000 applicants appear for each written exam.

To join the army through upsc you can complete your 10+2.
your age between 16.5 to 19.5 years.You can give the combine defence service exam.
and also you can complete your gradution in any stream from any university
you also indian citizen

By 12th standard qualification , you are not become an Officer in Indian Army.Only after completition of Engineering degree you are eligible to apply for Combined Defense Service(C.D.S) examination.By this if you selected after complettion of formalities like Written test results , Interview,Physical test only be selected as Army officer.

there is exam for National defense academy i.e. NDA.

its exam is conducted twice in one year by UPSC.
and has two papers: maths and general awareness.

the eiligibility is:
you should be citizen of India.
your age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.
you should have completed your class 12(or appearing this year).
if your subjects are:
physics and maths together- then you can go for air force and navy also.
if not, then you can go for army only.

after succesful training in NDA and academy, you
will be commissioned as an officer as:
Liuetenant in army,
Sub liuetenant in navy or
flying officer in air force(whichever you choose)
