Hello,
One can select only one literature paper out of the list of all literature papers. So, you can not select both Hindi and Marathi as your optionals. However, you can choose one of them.

Syllabus for main exam is:
Paper-I One of the Indian Language to be selected by candidate
Paper-II English
Paper-III Essay
Paper - IV & V General Studies
Paper- VI,VII,VIII, & IX Any two Subject to be selected from the prescribed optional subjects
So dear you can not select both Hindi and Marathi as optional language
You can select only one language

No, dear if you will be select both language for optional papers you will be confused then according to me you have to focus only one language then you can clear obviously that exam.

no friend you can not choose both the language as the syllabus for civil service main exam in paper I says=
any one of the indian language to be selected by the candidate from the 22 language.
so friend you do not have the option to select both hindi and marathi..you need to choose either hindi or marathi as the optional subject..
paper I carries 300 marks so friend choose the subject which you know better(better knowledge).

No dear you can not select these languages as your subject of mains exam because this facility is not available for your civil service mains exam and the complete paper pattern is following for civil service exams :
Preliminary Test - This would be first test which is objective type and has 2 papers for 400 marks and qualifying is necessary in prelims test
Mains Examination : Conventional type paper which has 9 papers and you would have to select any two subjects from the following list for your mains exam and there would be a separate language paper from the following list which you may choose for your one language paper :
1. Paper I - English Language - 300 Marks
2. Paper II - Essay - 200 Marks
3. Paper III - Any one language from the list - 300 Marks
4. Paper IV - General Studies - I - 300 Marks
5. Paper V - General Studies - II - 300 Marks
6. Paper VI and VII - Any selected subject from the list - 300 Marks
7. Paper VIII and IX - Any Selected Optional subject from the list - 300 Marks
You may choose any language for your language paper from the following list :
1. Assemese, 2. Bengali, 3. Bodo, 4. Dogri, 5. Gujrati, 6. Hindi, 7. Kannada, 8. Kashmiri, 9. Konkani, 10. Maithili, 11. Manipuri, 12. Malyalam, 13. Marathi, 14. Nepali, 15. Oriya, 16. Punjabi, 17. Sanskrit, 18. Santhali, 19. Sindhi -Arebic, 20. Sindhi - Devnagiri, 21. Tamil, 22. Telgu, 23. Urdu
