There is no percentage bar for UPSC first of all.You have to be a graduate from any stream from a recognised university. All the courses conducted by AMIE are given govt certification for technical courses. You will be perfectly eligible for appearing not only in UPSC exams but also in any other govt or pvt agency if you complete your degree from AMIE.Being an ECE graduate from AMIE,you can also apply for Engineering services as well. All the best

Re: Can I write IAS exam after AMIE?

Dear basic eligibility criteria to appear for UPSC Civil Service Examination is :

A degree in any subject from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply but you have mentioned that you have completed a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication then I would like to tell you one important thing that, If you have completed a three year duration Diploma from a recognized institute then also you can apply for this examination because minimum 3 year duration diploma will be considered as a bachelor's degree and that will make you eligible to apply for this examination but if you have completed only 1 or 2 year's duration diploma then you are not eligible

There is one more line mentioned in the official notification of this exam that will make you eligible to apply for this examination :

Candidates possessing Professional and Technical Qualification which are recognized by Government as equivalent to professional and technical degree would also be eligible for admission to the examination

If you are going to join AMIE - Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers : This is a professional certification provided by Institution of Engineers - India then you will be eligible to apply or this examination because this will be considered as a bachelor's degree but you will have to pass both section A and section B to get the certificate and to be eligible for IAS Examination so you should not waste your time, go and join this course as soon as possible and complete it without any failure and make yourself eligible for UPSC examination

If you will pass this certificate program then you will also be eligible for UPSC Indian Engineering Service Examination because this qualification is accepted by UPSC board for IES examination also so you may also make your career in engineering stream but you should choose only one best and interesting and go towards that

Your age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

During your certificate program you must begin your preparation for this examination and get completed before applying and if you have more time then you may also take help of any good coaching but must start on your own basis because you will have this course during the preparation so use previous years papers and various books and prepare well for this examination. I have attached official notification for more details about this examination please download

    All the best
