Is AMIE a valid bachelors degree like its contemporary degree courses? Can I prepare for competitive exams like Civil Services (IAS/IES), GATE etc?

I want Details about AMIE degree, is AMIE a bachelor degree.Is it aprroved or recognized by Indian govt.?
Can we appeared in the competitive Exams like civil services(IAS),(IES),GATE etc.
