Re: Can I write UPSC exam after completing 3rd year?

it is not clear from your statemant whether you are in final year of you degree or pre-final year.

If you are final year appearing student from recognised university then YES you are eligible to write your examination in the 3rd year of your graduation(which I am deemed as your graduation final year)

besides that you should heve to be in accordance with other criteria also

    civil services examination (for IAS,IPS)

    whose eligibility criteria are :
    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ::
You must be a citizen ofIndia,

or, You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India before 1962.

You must be of 21 to 30 years of age. HOWEVER,there is a relaxation in the upper age limit,
of 3 years for the OBCs
    and
    5 years for the SC/STs.

You must have completed your Graduation orEquivalent, from a recognized university under any
stream,or be a final year student in the same

The number of attempts is 4 for a General category student,
    7 for an OBC candidate,and
unlimited for a SC/ST candidate, until he fulfills the age criteria

Dear, You can write UPSC exam after completing 3rd year of your Degree, but this rule is not applicable to those who belongs to MBBS or BE / B.Tech because these course's duration are 4 and 5 years. So, if you belongs to these Degrees you have to wait for your final year. By-the-way if you are not belongs to other Degrees such as BA/BSC/BBA/BCA/B.COM etc. you have to produce Mark sheet at the time of Main Exam. So, think about it. Good Luck...

    Dear pal,
    • The academic requirement for applying for the service is bachelor degree in discipline which could be science, engineering, arts, commerce, business administration etc.
    • Aspirants are eligible for the exam in the final year of their degree course itself but you need to have completed 21 years of age. If not completed you can apply only after the completion of the degree.
    • If you are in pre final year in case of engineering or in case of architecture you can not apply this year you need to wait for your final year.
    • But you can start your preparation now itself as to perform well you require good preparation . Aptitude exam being common to all general books write by Aggarwal or kumar can be followed or used as a reference book.
    • But more the books you refer the better you could do in the exam.

Re: Can I write UPSC exam after completing 3rd year?

    Hi Dear
For appearing in UPSC exam you should be in the final year of your graduation or passed out.
So answer to your query depends upon whether you are doing a 3 year course(like B.Sc.) or a 4 year course(like B.Tech.).
If you are in a 3 year degree course than you can definitely apply but if you are in a 4 year degree course than apply next year....
