Yes definitely you can apply for Civil Services Examination with vocational degree. To appear for Civil Services Examination the candidate have to be a graduate in any discipline from university recognized by UGC.
You also have to satisfy the other basic eligibility criteria to appear for the Exam.
The candidate should be Indian
The age limit is 21-30 years
The maximum number of attempts is 4.

Eligibility Criteria to apply for civil service exam through UPSC board :

Candidate must posses a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and if the candidate is pursuing final year of the degree or awaited for final year result or appearing for final year exams then also he/she may apply for civil service exams

Age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age would be provided to reserved category candidates as per government standards which is as 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen candidates and relaxation in upper age for - Widow, Divorced and Separated female candidates as per government guidelines

If you have completed your degree in vocational mode then also you are eligible to apply for this exam and dear you may apply for this exam between : 2nd of february to 4th of march 2013 and you may download your call letter for preliminary exam between - 1st to 19th of may 2013 and you may appear for this exam at - 19th of may 2013 in that city or district which would be selected by you in the application form

Number of attempts allowed to appear for this exam as category wise :

General category candidates - 4 times
OBC category candidates - 7 times
SC/ST category candidates - No limit but till 35 years of age

Examination pattern -

Preliminary exam - there would be two objective type papers conducted in this exam and each paper consist 200 marks and qualifying in prelims is necessary to be eligible for mains exam

Mains exam - there would be 9 conventional type papers conducted in this exam and and the total marks for all 9 papers are 2000 and qualifying in each and every paper is necessary and you will have to choose any two subjects from the following list for this exam and each selected subject and one GS subject has 2 papers as paper I and paper II for mains exam.

First of all discussing about your eligibility then about civil services.

As we all know that the minimum educational requirement for the civil services examinations is bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university eithen it is obtained in regular or distance or it is vocational degree.

The main thing is that the institution from which you have obtained should be recognized.

So with vocational degree ,you can go for the civil services examinations.Even if you are in final year of graduation you can go for the civil services.

The other criteria for the civil services are :

>>The age limit for the general candidates is 21-30 years and relaxations applicable to obc and sc/st respectively.

>>You must be an Indian citizen.

Civil services examinations are conducted every year by the UPSC.The important dates for the CSE 2013 are :

Last date of receiving application:04/03/2013

Date of examination:19/05/2013.
