PIO - Person of Indian Origin
OCI - Overseas Citizen of India

NRI STANDS FOR NON-RESIDENT INDIAN.
NRI is a person who holds a Indian passport but live in another country for any purpose.
PIO STANDS FOR PERSON OF INDIAN ORIGIN.
POI is a person who born in India but is not citizen of India and it is citizen of another country.
OCI STANDS FOR OVERSEAS CITIZENSHIP OF INDIA.
THE CENTRAL INDIAN GOVERNMENT ON APPLICATION,
may register any personas an OCI if that person is of Indian origin and is from a country which allow dual citizenship in some form or other.

work, residence or any other purpose.
PIO: stands for Person of Indian Origin
these persons are born in India and have a citizenship of
another country.
