for the post of IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS etc. UPSC conduct Civil Services Exam every year.
There is no reservation for any category but there is relaxation in number of attempts for Civil Services exam for OBC or SC/ST category.
for exam you need graduation degree in any discipline from recognized college or university with any percentage. final year candidates can also apply for the exam.
despite from that your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. There is also available relaxation in upper age limit according to government norms as 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Civil Services exam is conducted in three phases and you have to clear all the phases to become an IAS officer.
The three phases are CSAT(Prelims), Mains and Interview
there is also applicable limit of number of attempts like 4 for General, 7 for OBC and there is no limit of number of attempts for SC/ST candidates.
