Re: Is hindi compulsory at secondary level to be eligible for IAS exam?

No hindi language is not compulsory at Secondary Level to apply for IAS exam because there are about 27 states and other union territories and every state and territory have their own local language which is compulsory to study at the secondary level by the candidate and this rule is also implemented by government of the center and state so that the Hindi is not necessary to have at 12th level because Hindi is compulsory in some states at 12th level but if every candidate would not study about Hindi then he/she would not be eligible to apply for IAS exam so that if you have passed class 12th in any medium with any subject and possessing a degree from a recognized university then you can apply for IAS exam.

    All the best
