I want to appear for CDS 2012 and my preference is IMA . My date of birth is 13,Nov,1988 and during the filling of application form its showing that due to agelimit you are not eligible for IMA. As, per info. the age limit mentioned on UPSC site for IMA is 19-24 yrs. Due to this problem i'am not able to fill the application form. Pls, help me out.

This should not happen if the details which you are entering are correct as according to the age criteria you mentioned,your DOB is satisfying the criteria completely.So in that case,they should accept the same.Please try opening in a different browser and if the problem persists,please contact the concerned upsc officials.Good Luck!

When a form is available to be filled online,it is circumscribed in a way that the people of the eligible age limit are only able to fill in the form.
If your age limit is showing ineligible,then it clearly means that you are violating the age norms as set in by the UPSC.
Therefore,you are not eligible to fill in the application form for the CDS.
You can try in some other examinations.

dear this problem occurs only when date of birth is not eligible that is your age must be above the required thats why this problem is coming so your age is not eligible for the exam so dear you can not apply for this.
there is chances that you are on system which is having INTERNET speed problem do register at some other time when you found that speed is OK.
but Even you have feel the same problem, do clear your doubt calling the phone numbers provided by UPSC or There is no other mean otherwise you have to fill the application omitting this choice, opt for other permissible options.

for cds two major qualifications you must have.
1. You must be a graduate from a govt. Recognized university.
2. Your age must be in between 19-24 years .
If you are underage or overage than you can not fill the form .
This type of problem occurs only when you are not lie in between the age limit.

YES, ACCORDING TO YOUR PRESENT AGE YOU ARE NOT APPLICABLE FOR APPLYING IN CDSE(IMA).
The age limit for CDSE(IMA) is 19 to 24 years(at the time of commencement of the course,not at the time of applying).
That is the age should be when the course is due to commence,not at the time of applying.
Actually,the fact is there is a three stage selection process
1)Written Exam.
2)SSB(Service Selection Board) interview.
3)Medical Fitness.
It takes nearly 1 year time to finish the course and start the course,hence time age must be when the course is due to commence,you have to be 1 year advance.
You can apply when your age limit is 18 to 23 years for IMA.
Now your age is 23 years 7 months,if you apply now at the time of commencement of course,your age will be 24 years 7 months which is out of criteria.
That is why it is displaying that you are not applicable for CDSE(IMA).

Friend, since the age limit for CDS exam is 19-24 years, and since you are overage; thus you can't apply for CDS exam. Try for the other exams. Good Luck....

- If you are interested in joining Indian military academy (IMA) in it, then you must have completed graduation in any of the stream from recognised university.
- The age limit stated for it is 19 years to 24 years which should be at the time of joining but not appearing in examination.
- The selection process takes one year, so the upper age limit becomes 23 years due to which you are unable to fill the form.
Friend, my humble advise to you that you should apply for Officer Training Academy (OTA) in which you will not face any age limit problem.
The problem ariseing regarding age limit while applying is that maximum age fixed for Indian Military Academy (IMA) is 24 years without any type of relaxation in upper age. Moreover, it is requred that candidate must be below the age of 24 years at the time of commencement of course but not at the time of applying.
From your date of birth, it is obvious that you will surely above the age of 24 years at the time of commencement of course in CDS. This is the reason why you are facing the age limit problem.
But the maximum age fixed for Officer Training Academy (OTA) is 25 years. You will not face any problem while applying for OTA.
You are overage.The age limit is 19-24years but at the time of commencement of training and NOT at the time of applying. If you have read the notification carefully,then you must have also read the exact range of date of births specified there for each module. The online portals are designed such that any candidate entering the date of birth more than the specified range are informed about their ineligibility. You can check the CDS notification to know the exact date of births allowed.

Before applying you should have gone through the application notification throughly. The birth dates between which the candidates can apply are specified there in the notification.
The site of the UPSC is designed in such a manner that the birth date of the candidates should be between the mentioned dates in the notification.
