Income tax and customs fall under indian revenue service or irs. No state cadre is available in irs. But in ias and ips you can get your state cadre if your rank is high in the merit list.
Dear,
To join in the Income Tax and customs department, you have to appear the CSAT examination for IRS(Indian Revenue Service). You may not get the state cadre in this service. Because there is no state cadre in IFS & IRS etc.. But in all other services like IAS or IPS, You may get the state cadre, if you score well in the examination. Best of Luck
There is no state cadre in customs and income tax. Unlike IAS,IPS which are ALL India service, where you can get state cadre based on you rank, customs and income tax fall under CENTRAL SERVICE. No state cadre, you can be posted anywhere in india and also transferred to any other place
Income tax and customs department comes under central service. while IAS,IPS comes under ALL India service. only for IAS,IPS state cadre is there, which is allocated based on merit rank scored by the candidates. for IRS, there is no state cadre. all candidates who have secured IRS comes under central govt service, and they can be posted anywhere in India depending on the available vacancies and merit list. Once you are posted in 1 state, you can also be transferred or promoted to anyother state. thats what a central service is
