    yes of course history as well as mathematics both are very good subjects as optional papers in main exams

    Undoubtedly History is a good subject for the civil service mains exam

    Your selection is quite good and you can score well in the civil service exam by studying History subject.

    History subject will also help you in the paper of general science.

    General studies paper is in prelims and mains both exam, so it will be helpful in both exam

    For the preparation of History subject you should use reference books and do deep study of Indian ancient history.

    You can also get the study material from newspaper and competitive magazine.

    So friend you should read news paper regularly and make the notes of important points

    For the current affairs listen news and study Pratiyogita Darpan magazine

    Practice previous year question paper.

    History is considered one of the best optional subject from the point of view of UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam.

    History is the subject which is easy to understand and easy to grab on the subject.

    So History is considered the subject which is easy to crack.

    it will also help you for Civil Services prelims exam now called CSAT.

    Friend, there is no doubt that history is very good and scoring subject in respect of mains examination in UPSC. Apart from it, psychology, geography, political science etc are good subjects for mains exam. Choice of history subjects helps also in the preparation of general studies. Candidates are advised to consult NCERT Books in order to clearify the basic concepts in history subjects.WISH YOUR BRIGHT FUTURE
