Dear,
I am happy that you are going to choose your career as IPS officer. The UPSC conducts CSAT examination for IPS examination every year. So if you prepare from now for it, then you can crack the examination. The books(General Studies and English & aptitude test) from the TATA MCGRAWHILL or PEARSON publications are the best for preparing. Best of Luck

Hi Friend!
I really do appreciate your dream of becoming IPS officer!
To become an IAS or IPS officer, you need to go through Civil Service Exam(CSE), the most popular misnomer 'IAS exam' or 'UPSC exam'.
There are two phases in CSE.
They are
1)Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT) or Preliminary Exam
2) Civil Service Main Exam
Note: You must know that those who've qualified CSAT are only eligible for the Civil Service Main Exam.
Qualification for CSE:
Educational: Graduation
Age: General: 21-30yrs, OBC:21-33yrs, SC/ST : 21-35yrs
Note: there is a considerable age relaxation for special category like Blind, Deaf-Mute, etc.
