How should I make my basics strong?

I have just completed my post graduation and now i am starting my UPSC prepration so i want to ask that what should i do for making my basics perfect?

start reading english news paper daily,Keep in touch with ur subject pepers,reasoning,aptitude,english.
Try to solve previous year question paper at your own.

First of all you have to go through the Question Pattern for which exam you want to appear. You can download and print Previous Years Question Papers at www.upsc.gov.in

NCERT books are best for the basic knowledge because it covers full syllabus of UPSC.

You can also practice more and more MODEL Question Papers from a sample paper by which you can experience to the Questions coming in UPSC exams.

• It is necessary that one should have good basics to clear any competitive exams. The questions will not be direct as in the case of school exams.

• The questions can be answered only if you understand the basics. Practicing is the only way to make your basics better.

• You can prefer to refer more books. Any standard book holds good for the exam preparation. Do not follow a book which has all the concepts in it. As the concepts are not fully covered and there will only a overview.

• So choose book in each discipline and study. Nowadays E Books are also available which guides you in a better way.

• To know what kind of questions are asked you can refer to any previous year question papers. Few papers are put up in the official website itself .

• Common aptitude questions by Aggarwal, by kumar. Any comprehensive book can be referred for preparation.
