To study for the civil services examination you need to make yourself mentally strong because this examination is very tough to crack so if you blike to qualify this examination then you need to be good in the general studies and any of the optional subject that you like to choose for the mains examination so if you like to apply for the same then you need to be good in every feild.
Make a proper time table for the same like you can wake up early in the morning to study for the general studies or if you are a night owl then you can do your studies at that time so it will be better for you to make the notes for the examination according to the syllabus.
Try to read the hindu newspaper every day to make your general awareness strong because that is the only newspaper which is good for studies.
Never try to take lightly the examination because this exam is the toughest in india and cannot be easily cleared.
So if you like to apply for the sdame then you must join the coaching acaddemies to qualify the examination.

    Thank you.

    hi friend,

For getting in to the ips you should clear civil services examination conducted by the upsc every year.

so if you want apply for next year then you should start your preparation from now onwards.

the next year prelims is scheduled to be conducted on aug 24 2014. so you should start keeping that target date in mind.

first select an optional subject depending upon your interest in the subject..

first begin with the ncerts and have clear basic understanding and then proceed with the standard textbooks prescribed for that subject.

as you have to study lot of subjects you have to plan well and allot proper time for the subject otherwise you will not be able to finish on time though you may feel you have nearly 1 year.so planning should be done properly.

you should also start with your newspaper..it would be better if you start it right now..gather all the necessary textbooks, subscribe for magazines etc in advance.so be active in doing all these things

you should also practice writing mock tests and solving mock questions especially for the prelims exam to learn time management.

    all the best
