UPSC is a centralised body which conduct various exams for
various posts.
if you have completed graduation and satisfy the below eligibility
criteria then of course you can apply for UPSC Civil Services exam.
Civil Services exam constitutes three parts:
1. CSAT
2. Mains
3. Interview
for appearing in exam you have to fulfill some other requirement
like:
>> you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation.
>>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the
year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for

Yes you can prepare for UPSC exams on your home also if you are a housewife then there is no problem to prepare for UPSC exams because if the candidates have time of about 6 hours everyday only for preparation then he/she may prepare at his/her home too but the study should be done concentratively and your aim should only be to crack UPSC exams for which you are going to prepare or going to appear and before preparing for any UPSC exams or civil service exams you should make it sure that you are enough eligible for that exam and you should have following eligibility criteria to apply for UPSC civil service exams :
A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and your age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in age as per government guidelines only for reserved category candidates which is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC category, 10 years for PWD and 5 years upper age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen category candidates.
Before preparing for any exam you should have the complete knowledge about the examination pattern and question paper pattern for which you are going to prepare and the examination pattern is following :
Preliminary Exam - This would be your first test which would be conducted in objective type format and you will have to qualify two papers in this test which are for 400 marks means 200 marks each
Mains Examination : This would be your second test which would be conventional type means no objective type questions and you will have to appear for 9 papers in this section and each paper contains 300 marks but essay paper contains only 200 marks and you would be offered to choose any two subjects in this exam to appear for mains exam and you may choose your choice subject from the list of the UPSC board.
Interview Process : If you successfully qualify the prelims and mains exam then you would be called for interview process and after qualifying the interview process you would become an IAS officer in India
How To Prepare for this exam being a Housewife : Most of the candidates has no more time to prepare for UPSC civil services due to various causes so that they all should have manage time according to following points :
1. After getting free from all of your house works you should take some time for your study and after your works you should avoid all those things which are usually follows by all other candidates ass - Watching TV, Listening Radio, Playing Games, Gossips etc.
2. After completing your works you should take some rest for at least 1-2 hours and almost all housewife's gets time after 1 PM everyday so that you should take rest till 3 PM
3. After 3 PM you should get some books for your preparation and mostly you should prefer that subject in which you are so poor and you should study about your interesting subject after the completion of your other subjects because there are so many subjects which are asked in the examination
4. You should give at least 3 hours for your study and study till 6 PM then go for your other works which are compulsory in your house then if you get sometime then you should study for at least 1 an hour and if you are in few members of family then you will definitely get the time from your work and you may study well
5. If possible then you should join any coaching institute and if you are unable to go to coaching everyday then you should make your schedule and give at least 3-4 days every week and collect all study material and notes from your coaching institute and you should attend the CSAT class because it is the tough part for your prelims and other things you may easily remember after studying 2-3 times
6. Everything in your hands and if you wants to make your career in civil services then you will have to give time for your study so please try to give at least 6-8 hours everyday for your study.
