    Hi,

Yes my friend, they will be counted.
The fact is that you applied for the exam.it doesn't matter whether you gave it or not.
But this will be counted in your record in the no. of attempts for the exam.

So prepare for it and give the exam this time!

    Bye!

    .Hello,

General candidates have only 4 attempts for IES exams. However, the attempts are counted only when you have appeared for minimum one paper of the exam. So, if you do not appear for any of the papers, you attempt won't be counted.

Do revert back for more clarification.

    Thanks,

NO this will not be counted as an attempt because you didn't appear for the exam, the attempt is only counted if you give the exam i.e if you attempt it.

    Hi,

According to rule, These attempts will be counted, It does not matter you sit in exam or not.

During application filling, these Attempts are counted which you have already done

If you are General category, therefore two attempts are left for you to apply UPSC civil services exam.

There is 7 times for OBC category candidates.

There is no limit for SC/ST category.

Your age should be between 21-30 years.

3 years and 5 year age relaxation is given to reserved category candidates.

You must be passed a graduation degree from a recognized university.

Do not take it as fun , it is civil services exam.

If you apply it, then attempts it.

I hope this mistake of you does not occur next time.

    Good luck...............

    Dear Aspirant!

Yes, you will lose your limited attempts even though you have not written examination.
Because , Not attempting with applying for the Examination.

As you belongs o General category you have only 04 attempts limit up to 30 years pf your age.
So, Finally you have only 2 attempts left so, be prepae well and apply for it.

Don't remember after preparation and confidence to write exam only you can apply.

    Good Luck

if you have applied for the examination and got the hall ticket then your attempt would be counted but being an obc candidate you have got 5 more attempts left, which are more than enough for getting selected.
Work hard for the preparation you will surely attain it.
    all the best
    happy learning!!!!

    Hi
First of all I would like to clarify this fact that there is no restriction in the number of attempts in the indian engineering services IES. The age restriction is applicable to the IAS exam which is also conducted by the upsc. And as you have missed your two attempts, it hardly matters in the IES exam. You just need to be in the age limit now, 21-30 years, to give the IES exam.
And for more details you can log onto the official website of the upsc

    - Mere applying for IES exam doesn't mean that you have attended the exam.

    - For UPSC IES exam a general candidate has total 4 attempts in his life.

    - OBC candidate has 7 attempts.

    - SC/ST candidates have no attempt bar.

    - The attempt is counted when you sit in minimum 1 exam of full selection process.

    - So as you only have applied for exam but not sit in exam have not been counted your attempts.

    - So you can carry on for next exam till your age limit.

    - The age limits for IES exam is given below:

    1. General: 21-30 years.

    2. OBC: 21-33 years.

    3. SC/ST: 21-35 years.

    Dear Friend,

Do not worry about that , your attempt will not be counted. If you just fillup the IES examination form and could not attend the exam then your attempt will not count.

    IES exam :

    Number Of Attempts :

    GEN : 4
    BC : 7
    SC/ST : No Limit

    Good Luck

Re: I have applied for IES exam twice but couldn't attend the exam. Will those two attempts be counted as attempts?

First of all i want to tell you that, the IES stands for the Indian Engineering services.
For your kind informations the generl candidates can apply 4 times for the IES exam.

So, if you are not appear for any paper, Your attempt won't be counted. So, don't worry and try again.

Well following are attempts and age limits for the candidates.

For general, Your age limit should be between 21 to 30 years, and you can apply only 4 times between this age criteria.

For OBC, Your age limit should be between 21 to 33 years. And you can attempt 7 times between this age limit.

For SC/ST, Your age limit should be between 21 to 35 years, and you can attempts above 10 times between the age criteria given above.

For more informations regarding these informations, feel free to ask any separate query.

    Thanks for visiting this site.
