    Dear candidate,
being a mechanical engineering student, the best subject combination for you will be that of mechanical engineering and an arts subject.
As for an arts subject, you can choose from indian history, public administration or geography.
These subjects are highly scoring and even form a core part in the preliminary exams.therefore it is very beneficial too.
You can choose any subject, according to your strength and prepare by studing to their depth
give equal importance to both of them.
    Gud luck

as a m.tech student to take similar subjects with his/her stream are much better than choosing the ood subjects because the candidate have already gone through the syllabus of these subjects.

If you want to choose any other subject than mechanical engineering then the better option for you is the physics, chemistry or electrical engineering.

Re: Which Optional subjects should I choose for Civil Services pursuing B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering?

    Hi Harish!

Firstly have a look at the 25 optional subjects.

One of the subjects is 'Mechanical Engineering' and the second second optional, I'd suggest is 'Public administration', because public administration have less content at the level of graduation compared to all other subjects in the list.

All other subjects until graduation have a lot of content to cover.

    So I'd say
    "Public Administration and Mechanical Engineering".

    I wish you all Success!

    dear ,

as you are a student of engineering than i suggests you to take physics chemistry and mathematics

or the best option is for you the mechanical engineering paper and the second option is public administration which is best option for you because of

its less content in graduation level.
