    NO. OF ATTEMPTS FOR THE UPSC EXAMINATION IS Civil Service Examination - General-4, OBC-7, SC/ST- No restriction i.e. IF YOU ARE COMING IN GENERAL CATEGORY THEN YOU HAVE TO ATTEMPT 4 TIMES UPSC EXAM.

    AND IF YOU ARE COMING IN OBC CANDIDATE THEN YOU CAN ATTEMPT UPSC EXAM 7 TIMES.

    AND IF YOU ARE COMING IN ST/SC CANDIDATE THEN YOU HAVE TO RESTRICTION IN EXAM i.e. YOU CAN ATTEMPT UPSC MANY TIMES WHEN YOU WANT.

    Four attempts for general candidates.

    Seven attempts for OBC candidates.

    No limit for SC/ST candidates.

    Dear Aspirant,
    -The number of attempts in the INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE exams conducted by the UPSC is not restricted for the candidates,provided they satisfy the Eligibility Criteria of this exams completely.
    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ::
    # Nationality : You must be an Indian Citizen or, You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or, You must be a Tibetan refugee settled in India permanently before 1962.
    #Educational Qualifications : You must have completed your BTech from a recognized university in any of the following streams.
    ~MECHANICAL ENGINEERING.
    ~ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING.
    ~CIVIL ENGINEERING.
    ~ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING.
    # Age Criteria : You must be 21 to 30 years of age.The upper age limit is however relaxable by 5 years for SC/STs and by 3 years for the OBC candidates.

    Four attempts for general candidates.

    According to new pattern off UPSC no.off attempt are given below
    1.SC/ST:-NO restriction

    2.OBC:-MAXIMUM 7 attempt


    3 Gen :-max.4 attempt

    But therse is age limit is alsO
    SC/ST :-37 YEAR


    OBC:-33 YEAR

    GEN :-30 YEAR

    The number of attempts allowed for IES exam

    * For General category candidates it is - 4 attempts.
    * For SC/ST candidates category it is - No limit.
    * For OBC candidates category - 7 attempts.

    Donot worry ,I am providing you the information about no of attempts for different category in UPSC IES examinations:

    General:4

    OBC:7

    SC/ST: no limit

    Age limitations:

    General: 21-30 years

    OBC:21-33 years

    SC/ST:21-35 years


    Minimum educational qualification:

    >>Bachelor's degree in any stream of engineering from a recognised university but the condition is that you have to select subjects from only the four branches :

    1.Civil engineering

    2.mechanical engineering

    3.Electrical engineering

    4.Electronics and communication engineering.

    IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service Exam this exam is conducted by union public Service Commission and this exam is conducted by every in IES Exam have four category there are

    hi
    for giving the IES exam you need to be a graduate from any of the following streams of engineering
    civil engineering
    mechanical engineering
    electronics and communication engineering
    electrical engineering
    and as far as the number of attempts are concerned. There are 4 attempts for the general category within the age limit of 21-30
    7 attempts for obc within the age limit of 21-33
    And no restrictions for sc/st students with the age limit of 21-35 years

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Services, its exam is conducts by Union Public Service Commission once in every year.

    For that exam you should be graduate in engineering and also can apply in last year of engineering graduation.

    Number Of Attempts :

    GEN : 4
    BC : 7
    SC/ST : No Limit

    IES exam is conducted by UPSC once in Every year, Candidate should satisfy some criteria to Eligible in this Exam like age limit , Qualification ,No.of attempts.
    Candidate can attempt the exam as no. of times as UPSC decided i.e

    No. of Attempts:

    >> 07- for OBC
    >> no limit - for SC/ST

    Welcome Guest,

    Indian Engineering Service(IES) examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) for recruiting candidate in various engineer post in Central Government.

    MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS IN IES:

    # For General Candidates- Maximum Four attempt under age limit.

    # For Other Backward Classes(OBC)- Maximum 7 attempts under age limit.

    # For Physically Disables(Under Generals Category)- Maximum 7 attempts under age limit.

    # For SC/ST- No such restriction. They can attempt for IES as long as age limit is satisfied.

    Note- If a Physically Disable candidate belongs SC/ST/OBC then they will get the maximum number of attempt as per their Caste certificate.

    OTHER QUALIFICATION FOR IES:

    ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

    -> B.E/B.Tech degree form recognized University.

    -> M.Sc in either Electronics,Wireless Communication or Radio Physics.

    AGE LIMIT

    -> 21 to 30 years for generals.

    -> 21 to 33 years for OBC.

    -> 21 to 35 years for SC/ST.

    -> 21 to 40 years for Physically disables.

    NATIONALITY

    -> Either Indian or subject of Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who permanently came India.

    RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE IN IES:

    -> Engineering Services Examination.

    -> Interview.

    Engineering service Examination is conducted in the following four subjects,

    1. Mechanical Engineering.

    2. Civil Engineering.

    3. Electrical Engineering.

    4. Electronics And Telecommunication Engineering.

    IES 2014 Exam dates:

    commencement of Online Application-15/3/2014

    Last date of Submission of Application form- 14/4/2014

    Last date of payment online- 14/4/2014

    Engineering Services Exam Date- 20/6/2014

    Candidates have to apply online for IES 2014 in the website below

    www.upsconline.nic.in

    Online registration will start form 15th March.

    Registration fee of Rs 100/- is required to pay for General male candidates. No registration fee is require for SC/ST/OBC or female candidates.
