Re: What is the difference between UPSC engineering services examination and IES exam?

    Dear Applicant ,
Engineering Services examination (ESE) and IES examination are different examination and both are conducted by UPSC every year.
Engineering services examination is taken for engineering students for posts in govt. sector. This exam is generally termed IES examination by students in misconception of Indian Engineering Services examination.

    Whereas ,

IES examination is completely different examination and is meant for Economics students. IES stands for Indian Economics Services examination and is also
known as Indian Statistical Services examination.

IES--Indian Economic Services / Indian Statistical Services.
    ESE--Engineering Services Examination.
