UPSC Enggineering Services:
Eligibility: Age Eligibility:(on the 1st January, 2012)
You need to be between 21 years to 30 years. DOB should not be earlier than 2nd January, 1982 and not later than 1st January, 1991. Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rules. Academic Eligibility:
You must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university in Electronics/Civil/Mechanical/Electrical. Even Final year students can also appear in IES exam, provided he/she can provide the proof of passing the exam when IES exam (Written) result comes out, which is around December 2012. Important dates:
Date of notification & Online submission of form starts : March Last date for submission of IES 2012 Online form : April Date of IES 2012 exam : June(3 days) Scheme of exam: It contains 5 papers (3 objective papers of 2 hours duration each + 2 descriptive papers of 3 hours duration each), out of which one objective paper with General Studies, 2more objective papers with Engineering and 2 descriptive papers with Engineering. a. First day: General Studies + General English complete objective paper, for 200 marks b. Second day: Paper I for 200 marks and Paper II for 200 marks of Objective type technical. c. Third day: Paper I for 200 marks and Paper II for 200 marks of Descriptive type. d. Personal Interview round contains another 200 marks. e. So, total will be for 1000 marks for written and 200 marks for Personal Interview.

ii. Date of exam: November
Age Limit: 21-30 years on 1st January of the year of Examination
Educational Qualification:
Post Graduate Degree from a recognized university in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics. Candidates appearing in qualifying degree exams are also eligible provisionally subject to producing proof of passing along with Detailed Application Form.

Part-I: Candidates are required to appear in foll. Papers.

There is no difference between UPSC Engineering Service Examination and IES Examination . Both the examination are same examination but someone called engineering exam and someone called IES Examination . So don't be confuse .
IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service Examination , this examination is conducted by UPSC Once in a year . This year Last date for receipt of was already closed and the examination also already successfully completed on 15/06/12 . If you are missed chance don't worry next notification will be publish in the month of Feb OR March .
To apply for this examination , you should have a completed engineering degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification and No percentage criteria required for this examination and Pass marks is enough to crack this examination . Final year candidates are eligible to apply .
