    IAS stands for the Indian Administrative Service.

    This is the top level posts of India.

    UPSC every year plans the Civil exam for the IAS posts.

    In this year UPSC will release the notification on 2/2/2013 and last date of application form is 4/3/2013.

    Exam will be held on 19/5/2013.


    To apply for the IAS exam you should be graduate in any discipline

    You must be in age of 21 to 30 years.

    if you belongs to reserve category you can get the age relaxation.

    You must be the Citizen of India.


    You can apply for the Civil Service exam in two modes

    Online application form


    Offline application form.


    Examination fee: Rs. 100

    You have to apply for Civil Services Examination.
    Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IRS, IPS.

    Exam Format of Civil Services Examination
    The Civil Services Exam is a paper based test and consists of two successive stages:
    1. Preliminary Examination � comprising 2 exams � General Studies and CSAT
    2. Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview)
    The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:
    Educational Qualification
    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university
    Final year degree students are also eligible
    Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university

    Age limit
    General 21-30 yrs
    SC/ST 21-35 yrs
    OBC 21-33 yrs
    PH 21-40 yrs

    Number of attempts permitted
    General 4
    OBC 7
    PH 7
    SC/ST No Limit

    Nationality should be Indian.

    To become an IAS Officer you will appear in Civil Service EXam

    For Civil Service Exam you must be Graduate any stream from any recognized university

    Age should be between 21-30 years

    You can apply through the website www.upsconline.nic.in

    Date of Notification : 02-02-2013
    Date of Closing : 04-03-2013
    Date of Examination : 19-05-2013

    I.A.S ---- INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

    This exam is conducted by UPSC

    You must have a minimum of Degree Qualification

    And the range of an age is 21 - 30 years

    You must be an Indian Citizen

    # You have to read more CBSE books because most of the times The IAS exam covers the most of the subjects from the CDSE books only.

    #In the CBSE books History subjects is more important so you have to read it perfect

    #You have to read more General Knowledge and current affairs books .and also concentrate on he current news and events in daily life

    # In the History remembering the dates in the harder one so try to remember as much as possible

    # you have to daily read the Local and Leading News papers

    In order to become an IAS officer ,you must go through following steps:

    Step 1:Fulfill the eligibility criteria for the civil services exam.

    The % are not requre for this.

    The age criteria is :
    For gen. - 21 to 30 year
    For sc/st - 21 to 35 year
    For obc - 21 to 33 year

    The no of attemp chance :

    For gen - 4
    For obc - 7
    For sc/st - no limit.

    The exam complete in three procedure
    1) priminary exam
    2) Main exam
    3) Interview.

    Hi friend, IAS stands for Indian Administrative service and it is the most top level service in India. An IAS officer can be transferred any where in India. To become an IAS, you have to crack civil service exam which is conducted once in a year by UPSC. In February 2013 notification for this exam will be released by UPSC. Some basic requirements for this exam are as follows: You should be graduate from any recognized university. Age should be lies between 21 to 30 years for general category, 21 to 33 years for OBC, and 21 to35 for SC/ST candidates. The number of chances to sit in this exam are 4 for general, 7 for OBC and no limit for SC/ST.
