Academy Qualification for this examination is that candidate should have a completed graduate degree with any desire subject of a recognized University or equivalent qualification and final year candidates are eligible to apply . No minimum marks required .
According to the CSAT 2012 notification , candidate must have a minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years ( i.e candidate born not earlier than 2nd August , 1982 and not later than 1st August 1991 are eligible ) and Upper age limits is applicable for reserved categories .
So according to the age limits , you are not eligible to apply for this examination .

yes, you are considered for IAS 2012 if you have filled it this year during mar/apiril as now application has been already closed by upsc even if you are falls in general cateogory.
as UPSC put-up the upper age limit cut-off on the closing date of application which is in april and then you are approximately below 30 years of the age which is age cut-of for the general cateogory
besides that you have :-
relaxation for obc is 3 years which is 21-33 years ,he/she can give the examination.
relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years which is 21-35 years ,he/she can give the examination.
so go according to your category.

The age limit of the UPSC CSAT examination is 21-30years. There is also age relaxation of 3years for OBC, 5years for SC/ST and 10years for PH candidates. If you dont complete the chances to appear within the age limit (4 chances for general candidates, 7 chances for OBC and upto the age limit chances for SC/ST/PH candidates), and if you are in the reserved categories, then You can appear the examination. Yeah you can write the CSAT and the main exam at the age of 30 years as you satisfy the age limit needed for writing them.

There are criteria's which you need to possess and they may include such as:
> Candidate should be a citizen of India
> The age limit is that the candidate must have 21-30 years.

Dear, Sorry to say that if you belongs to General Category than you are not eligible. Because as per the Advertisement of Civil Services Exam-2011 published by the UPSC "You must not have attain the age of 30 yrs. on 1.8.11". So, the same thing happened this year that is on 2012. But, if you belongs to OBC than you can apply up to 33 yrs. and if you belongs to SC/ST than you can apply up to 35 yrs. Dear, if you are dam sure that you are interested only in Civil Services than you can also proceed to your states PUBLIC COMMISSION.Thanx.

- Being exactly 30 years of age,you are definitely eligible for the CIVIL SERVICES exams even if you belong to the general category.
-The ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for the CIVIL SERVICE exams are mentioned below ::
01. NATIONALITY.
You must be a citizen of India,
or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India before 1962.
02. AGE LIMITS.

The age limit for the various catagory is below :
21-30 for general cast
21-33 for obc cast
21-35 for SC/ST cast
21-35 for ex-serviceman
21-40 for physically handicapped .
now as your age will be 30 in current year and according to above criteria , if you belong to general cast then you have no chance for giving the exam .
But if you not belong to general cast then you are eligible for the exam .
So if you not eligible then go for the other exam but otherwise if eligible then start the preparation for the exam and give it .

30 years is the maximum age limit for general candidates to apply for CSAT exam.
