Sorry,you will not be eligible for the UPSC examinations that will be held in 2013 becuase of the reason that your age will be above 30 years but according to the rules and regulations of UPSC the age limitations for general category is 21-30 years.
Donot lose your heart,you can prepare for several other examinations like UGC-NET if you have completed your post graduation.
NET is the National eligibility test.
It conducts examinations for two posts:
>>Junior research fellowship: age should be less than 28 years.
>>Lectureship: there is no upper limit of age.
So,friend start preparation for this examination as this is also very tough exam as well as respectable.

AGE LIMIT for the UPSC exam is below :
21-30 for general cast
21-33 for obc cast
21-35 for sc/st cast
21-40 for physically handicapped .
As on 8-12-2012 you will be 30 years old as per your DOB .
Now as you belong to general cast and maximum age limit for general cast is 30 years so that you will not eligible for the UPSC exam 2013 .
So you can't give the upsc exam 2013 because you can't fulfill the eligibility criteria .
so go for other exam .

a candidate must not have attained the age of 30 years as on 1 august of the exam year.
so if you are going to wrie the exam on 2013 you should not have attained 30 years on 1 august 2013.

* sc/st category:- 21-35 years.
* obc category:- 21-33 years.
no of attempts:-

* FOR OBC :- 7 ATTEMPTS.

According to your D.O.B 08-12-1982 you will complete 30 yrs of age in 2012.

If you are under PWD or Ex-Servicemen category then there is a chance for you means if you are in EXS then you can apply for this exam till 35 years and if you are in PWDs then you are eligible to apply for this exam till 40 years
There is no chance for you but if you have master degree then there are some ways for you to make your career in other sectors as - Bank Specialist Officer, Junior Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow, UGC-NET, PGT test

are over aged for the exams.
According to Age Limit for General Category Aspirant in UPSC Civil Services
Exam your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of
exam. You have attained the minimum date on similar date and you would not
have attained the upper age limit on similar date.
And would attain the age of 30 years before the 1 august of the year of exam.

You can not appear for the UPSC exam.because the age limit for UPSC exam for general candidates is 30 years.So you can not apply.You can see the age limit given below...

Sorry to state but you won't be eligibile to appear in the UPSC examination from next year as you have already crossed maximum age limit. As per the UPSC, the minimum age is 21 years and maximum age is 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination for general category, as reserved category holds certain relaxations in upper age llimit.
