My date of birth is 19th December 1982. Will I be eligible for UPSC CSAT 2013?

My date of birth is 19 Dec 1982. Will I be eligible for UPSC CSAT 2013.
Further I have also served in Indian navy for a period of nine years and the have lefty the service on my own request.

as per upsc rules, the age limitaions are as below:

>>for general category: 21-30 years.

>>for obc: 21-33 years


>>for sc/st:21-35 years.


so,dear you are eligible for appearing for CSAT-2013 only if you belong to either sc/st/obc.

if you belong to gene ral category then you are not eligible.

as you know you have crossed thirty that means you are eligible for civil services examination only when if you are belonging from a reserved category like sc/st or obc ...

because the age criteria is as under :-


for general:- 21-30 years.

for sc/st :- 21-33 years.

for obc :- 21-35 years.



so if you are reserved category candidate than you are eligible for the same..

and also i tell you for increasing your knowledge that

there are an age relaxation of 5 years and 10 years for central govt. employee and the handicapped person respectively.

Well friend, it may be decided at that time when application are brought in market that your are eligible or not, since it depends on what date they give to compare ages for eligiblity criteria.

But if your age crosses 30 then you will not be eligible but you may be eligible if you are an OBC or SC/ST.

No special relaxation are made for any guys except based on Castes.


Eligibility Criteria for Civil services :


>> You must have done Graduation from any Recongnised University by UGC , if Correspondence than DEC.

>> Age Criteria :

Minimum age : 21 Years
Maximum Age : 30 Years

Relaxations for OBC : 3 Yrs in Maximum Age
Relaxations for SC/ST : 5 Yrs in Maimum age.

>> Number of Attempts allowed in CSAT/UPSC Civil services :
General : 4
OBC : 7
SC/ST : No limit.

>> You Must be Indian Citizen to be eligible to appear in the examinations of Civil Services

Hi Aspirant,

According to your date birth your age is going to be 30 years.

Maximum age limit for CSAT exam is 30 years.

You will apply for CSAT exam in 2013.

So you are not eligible to apply for CSAT exam.

You can apply only if you belong to reserve category.


Age relaxation for eligible category

SC/ST + 5 years

OBC + 3 years


Educational Criteria

You must be graduated in any stream from recognized university or its equivalent

Final year students are also eligible to apply

No certain marks of percentage required.
