Hello..!!
Whether B.Arch. or any degree that is not a problem. B.Arch candidate attending IAS is most welcome but the thing is atleast one year or two year solid preparation is needed for GK, personality development and fluency in expression, everything. Always keep on watching the latest events, maths and other reputed journals and books. then appearing for IAS exam is worthful.
Choose your optional subjects wisely... according to me "History and Geography" combination is the best as it also contributes in GS section. Thus, gives you an upper hand as compared to other students.
But, take that subject as your optional subject in which you have grip and command and have deeply interest in that.
All The BEST.
