Re: Can I appear in UPSC Civil Services exam being a minor at the age of 17 yrs?

No , you are not eligible for the UPSC civil service exam the age of 17 years .
Because for the Civil Service Exam following criteria is fulfilled by one :
=> one should have to complete the graduation from any recognized university .
=> one age should be in below limit :
    21-30 for general cast
    21-33 for obc cast

=> Maximum allowable attempts for the exam :

no limit for the sc/st cast

So first of all complete the criteria as above then give the exam till you prepare for the exam .

Re: Can I appear in UPSC Civil Services exam being a minor at the age of 17 yrs?

Sorry dear you are not eligible for Civil Services Exam in 17 yrs. but you can apply for NDA at the same time. so, don't waste time and go for it. But if you are serious about Civil Services than you have to wait for your completion of Graduation or final year of Graduation. But there is another point with this and i.e. you have to submit passed marksheet of Graduation at the time of Main Exam. or at the time of interview. So, take care...Good Luck... Re: Can I appear in UPSC Civil Services exam being a minor at the age of 17 yrs?

No you can not eligible for the Civil Service Exam currently because you don't fulfill the eligibility criteria for the UPSC exam .

Criteria for the UPSC CSE exam is below :

=> one should complete the graduation from any recognized university in any stream or in the final year of graduation .

=> one age must be in below limit :
for general cast : 21-30 years.
    For obc cast 21-33 years
    for sc/st cast 21-35 years .
for physically handicapped 21-40 years .

As your age is currently 17 years so that you have to wait still 4 more years to give the exam .

But till now you can prepare for the exam because you have lots of time for preparing for the exam .

So that when you become eligible for the exam you will do most of the preparation for the exam and you will crack the exam .

So first of all complete your graduation and become eligible for the exam .

    good luck

    Hi

UPSC stands for UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

UPSC conducts many exams every year.

All the UPSC exams are on the graduation level.

And the age for giving the UPSC exam should be in between 21 - 30 years.

you are of 17 years of Age and obviously you would not have bachelor degree so you can not apply for the UPSC exams.

for more information about UPSC you can click here http://www.upsc.gov.in

    Dear Guest,

You are not eligible for upsc civil service examination at this time.
Because to be eligible in age a candidate must attained 21 years as on the 1st august of the year of the examination.
As you are 17 only,so it is not your time. You have to wait 4 years more.
But one thing I must tell you that this is very uncommon to hear questions on civil services examination at this age. It seems that you have a strong desire to be a civil servant.

I hope you must fulfill your dreams in future.

    THANKS.

Eligibility for UPSC civil service exams

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidate

Dear presently you are only 17 years old which makes you ineligible to apply for this examination that is why first of all you must go to complete your bachelor's degree and 21 years of age then come back and apply for this examination when the UPSC board release the notification

You have 4 long years time so that you should use this time and start your preparation while pursuing graduation and for that you should go to any good coaching institute and give at least 6 hours everyday for preparation with your current study and i am sure that if you will be continue on the same preparation strategy till your final year then you can easily qualify the prelims exam of UPSC civil service

    All the best
