Re: Can I prepare effectively for IAS exam being an ITBPF employee with scarce off time?

If you have only five hours everyday for study so I would like to say sorry in case of IAS examination because this examination is not a competitive exam like bank clerk and PO or SSC - LDC examination that you will study for about 4 hours everyday and pass without any problem and score good marks. This is a very huge competitive exam and considered as the toughest examination among all competitive exams that is why your five hours are not enough to get prepared well for this examination

But if you have no work while this time and completely free for five hours separate for study then you can prepare and achieve your target because you have already get a job in ITBP Forces so that shows you are a competitive aspirant and know more about the competitive because you have passed ITBP recruitment process and got the job so having good knowledge to face competitive and do not need anymore guidance about exams so you can make your dream successful

First of all you should serve better to the country and make good impression of your service in the department and if you will have good relations with Assistant Commandant/ Commandant/ Chief of your army then you will get approval to study for long time but service is also necessary so you should utilize these 5 hours only for preparation. Buy some good books and if you will request from the chief of your group then they will send your application to the Commandant and that person will help you and provide you some good books that you will demand for to prepare for examination

Get the syllabus and other facility as personal laptop and internet connection so you should keep in touch yourself with current affairs and latest changes in examination and other process and take help of this facility in your preparation. Give separate time for both papers of prelims and study in detail so you could prepare more for main examination too and mainly care for general studies section in case of being already prepared for main exam and follow the syllabus and complete all the necessary topics everyday by making target to complete

One week you should learn without any practice and first day of the next week you should dedicate to the revision because that is necessary in preparation and when you confirm everything with revision so you will have more confidence over your preparation. Download some previous years papers from www.upsc.gov.in and follow them to get prepared and also buy some model test papers for practice

If you have assistance from your family enough then you can take study leave from the chief and go to any good coaching institute to prepare for this examination and try your all efforts and this will keep in you security of job and if you qualify then you can resign from previous job otherwise do not need to go anywhere

    All the best
