Eye sight/vision standard for IPS:
1) Distant vision:
for standard eye: 6/6 or 6/9
for worst eye: 6/9 or 6/12
2) near vision for good eye: J 1
near vision for worst eye: J 2
3) vision should be stereoscopic
4) correction is by lenses only.
So no problem, you can wear contact lenses during physical fitness check up for Indian Police service.
If your power is so high, then you will not be given IPS post, you can choose any other posts like IRS, IAAs etc, depending on your score in the examination.
