To join Civil Services, appear for CSE conducted by UPSC. The plan of examination (3 stages) is as:
Details for prelims:
The exam is conducted in the month of May every year. It consists of two papers : GS and Aptitude test. The number of questions vary. There is 1/3rd negative marking for every wrong answer. It is of objective nature. Marks for this exam is not counted for final selection. This exam only qualifies you to appear for mains.
Details for mains:
The exam is conducted in the month of Oct/Nov every year. It consists of nine papers :
GS(2), First Optional(2), Second optional(2), Essay, English and Hindi. There is NO negative marking for every wrong answer. It is of subjective nature.
English and Hindi papers are of qualifying nature where you have to score a minimum of 40% marks. If you fail to do so, other answer sheets won't be evaluated. Maximum marks for all other papers is 300 except for Essay paper which is of 200 marks.
Details for Interview:
Maximum marks: 300. Conducted in the month of March-April

My dear you can join civil services after Bsc, for this you need to crack civil services exam which is conducted once in a year by UPSC. This exam is structured into three phases
1. Preliminary exam
2. Main exam
3. Interview
Qualification: Any graduate from a UGC recognized university
Age: For general candidates age should be lies between 21 to 30 years, for OBC candidate it should be 21 to 33 and for SC/ST candidates it is 21 to 35 years.
Attempts: It's very necessary to note that UPSC allows 4 times for general candidates, 7 times OBC, and there are not any limit for SC/ST candidates to sit in this exam.
Note: UPSC will invite application for this exam in February 2013.
