at the age of 28 years you are not eligible for any of upsc exam through which you can join Indian army .

but if you are a government servant then you will get the age relaxation of 5 years then you can apply for CDS.
also if you are a OBC applicant then you will get an age relaxation of 3 year then you can apply for CDS..
and if you are a SC/ST applicant then you will get age relaxation of 5 years then also you can apply for CDS.

CDS stands for combined defense services through which you can join any of the three defense forces

sorry to say you are not join the indian army through the upsc exam.
because you have complete the age. you are over aged person now.
through upsc you enter in the army only two exam:-

1. NDA Exam
2. CDS Exam


for nda exam age limit is the 16.5 years to 19 years

or the cds exam
Indian Maltery Accedmay age limit is: 19 to 24 Years
For Officer Training Academy age limit: 19 to 25 years
Naval age limit: 19 to 22 years
Indian air force age limit: 19 to 23 years

so you are over age and now you are not enter the army through upsc exam

I think that there is no way to join the army through UPSC at the age of 28 years because UPSC conducts only two examination for entering into army

1.NDA:



>>National defence academy .

For this examination ,the age of candidate should be between 16.5 to 19 years.

2.CDS :



>>Combined defence services examiantion.It gives chance to serve in three wings that is:

1.Indian military academy

2.Indian naval academy

3.Officer training academy.

For this examination ,the age of candidate should be between 19 to 24 years.


So,sorry dear you can not join army at age of 28 years through UPSC.

Yes you can.....

only metter is you have to be graduate...

you should follow some criterias as follow...

you have to be graduate with passing marks from approved university or college.

you have to be an indian

age limit.....
for open 21 to 30
for onc 21 to 33
for sc st 21 to 35

no of attempts
for open 4 attempts
for obc 7 attempts
for sc st no limit...
