    Hello,
    IES stands for Indian Engineering Services.
    IES exam is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates in different services such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronics engineering.
    OBC category candidates are allowed to appear to appear for a maximum of 7 times.

    The Eligibility Criteria for Number of Attempts is as follows:
    General 4
    OBC 7
    PH 7
    SC/ST No Limit

    if you belong to obc category then you can attempt ies exam 7 times and the age limit for you is 21 to 33 years

    [FONT=arial]UPSC conduct IES exams to make recruitment in different Govt. departments for different Engineering service post.The selection procedure for the exam includes written test & personal interview round.The candidates need to qualify the written test first then they are qualify for the personal interview round.written test consist of 1000 marks where as the personality test consist of 200 marks.

    Eligibility:
    Educational Qualification:- [/FONT]Degree in :
    � Electrical Engineering
    � Electronics & Communications Engineering
    � Civil Engineering
    � Mechanical Engineering

    or equivalent degree from recognized universities.

    � M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts.
    � Students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible.

    Age:
    Not less than 21 year & not more than 30 year on 1st August on year of conduct the examination.
    (Upper age limit is relaxed for certain reserved categories)

    There is a limited number of time you can attempts the IES exam:
    For General - 4 times
    For OBC - 7 times
    For Physical Handicapped - 7 times
    For Sc & St - No limit on number of attempts.

    If you are belongs OBC category then you should appear the IES exam 7 times.

    If you are talking about Indian Engineering Services Exams than you can apply for the exams as many times as you can.

    Also you just have to make sure that you meet the age criteria and the educational qualifications criteria


    Educational Qualifications required to apply for this exams is:
    >> BE/BTECH pass in any stream
    OR
    >> Passed section A and Section B of Instution examinations of Institution of Engineers
    Or
    >> Graduate Membership Examination of Institute of electronics and Telecommunication Engineers

    Age-
    Minimum 21 years
    Maximum 30 years
    OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations

    for IES(Indian Engineering Services) exam you must have engineering degree in any discipline from recognized college or university.

    Indian Engineering Services exam is conducted by UPSC every year.

    you are required to give the papers in any one of the following four streams.
    Civil Engineering
    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering


    For IES there is no limit of number of attempts. you can apply any number of times within age limit. the limit of number of attempts is only for Civil Services Exam and IFS exam only.

    >>Engineering degree in any discipline from recognized college or university

    Dear friend Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination is conducted by the UPSC in every year.No. of attempt:-General category candidates can apply for the IES exam only 4 time.OBC category candidates can apply for the IES exam only 7 times.No limit on number of attempts for SC/ST category candidates.So, you can attempts for the IES exam only 7 times.Best of luck........

    IES stands for the Indian Engineering Services .It is also called Engineering services examination.This exam is conducted by the UPSC once every year for selection of candidates in different government departments.

    First of all discussing your query regarding the no of attempts :

    The number of attempts for the exam depends upon category to which you belong :

    For general candidates it is only four.

    OBC candidates enjoys seven attempts.

    SC/ST candidates have more advantages over OBC and general as they have no limit on number of attempts.

    Now discussing about the other eligibility criteria for the exam :

    >>Candidates having bachelor's degree in any stream of engineering or technology from a recognized university is eligible to apply for the exam.Final year engineering candidates can also apply for the exam.

    Age limitations:

    The minimum age limit for the candidates of all category is same that is 21 years where as the upper age limit is totally dependent upon your category which is as below:

    >>General:30 years

    >>OBC:33 years.

    >>SC/ST:35 years.

    You must be an Indian citizen.

    the IES exam is conducted by the upsc.
    For giving this exam, you need to be a graduate from any of the 4 branches of engineering
    Mechanical
    Electrical
    Civil
    ECE
    And your age should be in between 21-30 years
    A relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc/st category respectively
    The number of attempts are
    General- 4
    Obc- 7
    Sc/st � no limits
