Yes Dear,
All the document like your qualification documents , age proof, residence proof, specially your caste/category certificate which you are belong. when the documents
verification step comes then you have totally document, if you do not show the all documents then your application is rejected by the upsc board and you declare the
disqualified from the competitive exam.
So, firstly prepare your documents related to the exam then fill the examination form for any competitive exam.

UPSC conducts civil services examination every year in the month of may. This exam is conducted for various top level posts like IAS,IPS,IFs,IRS etc
Since you are in ST category you have the following relaxations:
1) Age relaxation till 35 years of age.
2) No restriction in number of attempts, you can appear any number of times in the exam till 35 years of age
Documents required:
1) Tenth standard mark sheet- for name and date of birth verification
2) Your community certificate to certify that you belong to ST category
3) Degree certificate to ensure your educational qualification
These are the documents you will require in the selection process. DO remember that only in interview stage your certificates will be verified. While applying for prelims, you will not be asked to submit these documents.

Good to know that you want to become IPS Officer.
IPS Post is being filled by UPSC through Civil Services Examination.
Civil Services Exam is conducted every year by UPSC to select the best of the best candidates to work in various
high level of Government departments like IAS, IPS, IFS etc.
You need to have minimum educational qualification of Graduation or equivalent from recognised University approved by UGC.
Percentage don't matter in your Graduation. You just need to be passed in your graduation in order to apply for UPSC Civil Services Examination.
Also your age limit should be between 21 to 30 years if applying under General Category.
Relaxation in age is provided to Reserved Category Candidates as per the guidelines of UPSC.
SC/ST : 5 Years i.e. Candidate can apply till the age of 35 Years.
OBC : 3 Years i.e. Candidate can apply till the age of 33 Years.
PH : 10 Years i.e. Candidate can apply till the age of 40 Years.
etc..and so on..
So if you belong to Reserved category you can apply in to that category can avail the benefit of Age relaxation as well as exemption in fees.
But to avail the benefit you should have necessary documents required like Caste Certificate etc to apply in reserved Category.
So start preparing for the examination.
UPSC Civil Services exam is one of the toughest exam in the whole ASIA.
so you should prepare yourself fully and have to give your full dedication to this examination.
The notification will usually be announced between the month of December to April.
So you should keep informed yourself for any such notification.

the proof of caste certificate along with your date of birth, your 12th maksheet, SLC, migration certificates are necessary
also dont take chane and go with all the documents you have related to acedemics

You can apply for IPS, IAS or IRS post through Civil service exam.
As you mentioned that you belong to ST category, you also get reservation in civil service exam.
UPSC conducts civil exam every year at national level and lots of candidates appear in civil exam.
You will get the relaxation of 5 years in age.
And also get the relaxation in final merit list.
At the time of applying you have no need of documents.
But in interview you will have to produce all the documents in front of interviewer.
These documents are:
High School mark sheet and Sanad
Intermediate mark sheet and Sanad
Graduation Degree
Character certificate
Caste certificate
Income certificate
Domicile
Etc.

The application fee for ST candidates is exempted. To back the application fee you will have to mark the column 7.
