OBC 7
PH 7
SC/ST No Limit
The other eligibility criteria for UPSC Exams are as follows:
The candidate should have a degree in any discipline from university recognized by UGC. Final Year students can also apply.
The candidate should be Indian
The age limit is 21-30 years

Dear questioner regarding the question of attempts is given for UPSC civil services exam the norms are simple to clear UPSC Civil Serveces/IAS/IPS/IES/IRS a candidate belong to General category student get 4 attempts,An OBC category Student get 7 attempts and other below categories like S/C S/T PWD etc no limit these students can sit for the said exams till their age eligibility support.

There is no restriction on number of attempts in any other Examination conducted by the Commission.

1)preliminary exam
2)civil service main exam
to be eligible for civil service exam,one has to be satisfy the conditions meant for them like age ,educational qualification,physical standards etc
number of attempts=
1)general /everyone is allowed to appear for civil service exam=4 attempts
2)sc / st =no bar
3)obc=7 attempts
those who cleared the preliminary exam would only be allowed for the civil service main exam

If you want to appear for civil service exams and wants to crack this exam so that you may easily crack this exam in few attempts but the UPSC board has decided the number of attempts for each and every category candidates to appear for this exam which are following as :
A general category candidate may apply for this exam only for 4 times in his/her entire career
A OBC category candidate may apply for this exam only for 7 times in his/her entire career
A SC/ST category candidate may apply for this exam till the 35 years of age means there is no fixed limitation for SC/ST category candidates and according to this limit they may apply about 13 times in their entire career
Age limits for UPSC civil services : Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years for a general category candidate, OBC category candidate may apply for this exam till 33 years of age, and SC/ST category candidates may apply for this exam till 35 years of age and Ex-Servicemen candidates also may apply for this exam till 35 years of age.
Educational Qualification : To apply for this exam you should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or board or institute and if you are pursuing final year of your degree then also you may apply for this exam

Start date for online application - 2nd or february 2013
Last date for online application - 4h of March 2013

are calculated on the basis of how many times you appear for exam.
If you apply for exam but you have not appeared for any of exam.
then it is not calculated as attempt.
Limit Number Of Attempt:
these limit of attempts are only for Civil Services exam, IFS, IES
- General category: 4 attempts
- OBC category: 7 attempts
- SC/ST category: No Limit
exam and there is no limit of number of attempts for any other UPSC
