There is no problem for you because UPSC board has provided 25 various subjects to choose for mains exam which are following but to choose those subjects you have to be passed in the UPSC Civil Service Preliminary Exam so that you would be eligible to apply for mains exam and if you could not have passed in preliminary exam then you can not apply for mains exam so that you have to prepare for prelims first then think about the mains exam and in prelims exam you have to appear for 2 different papers which has 400 marks means 200 marks for each paper.
Subjects to choose in mains exam : After qualifying the preliminary exam you would be eligible to apply or mains exam and you can choose any two subjects of the following for your mains exam and you can choose your relevant stream subject and there is a optional subject so that you may choose that :

You are from medical stream so you may choose - MEDICAL SCIENCE as your mains subject and for optional you may choose any one but the relevant would be - CHEMISTRY but you may choose according to your wish and prepare well for exam to reach to the interview process and you should go to any reputed coaching institute for your preparation because many of the candidates qualify the prelims exam but fails in mains because of alack of preparation for mains exam so you have to prepare hard and your Hard+Smart work will take you to the goal.
Interview Process has 300 marks and you would be called after qualifying the mains exam.
