after HSC, you have to complete graduation in any stream from any recognised university.
The criteria for appearing in IAS/IPS Exam is :
1. Nationality : Indian
2. Academic qualification : Graduate in any stream from any recognized university.
3. Age limits : 21-30 (OPEN), 21-33 (OBC), 21-35(sc/st).
If you want to become an IAS or IPS Officer then you must have following qualifications and eligibilities
If you have a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks and your age is between 21-30 years then you may apply for this exam and relaxation in age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates.
Physical Standards are also required but only for IPS Officer not for IAS Officer and there are at least 3-5 steps in these UPSC - Civil Services exams to become a officer
1. Paper I - Objective
2. Paper II - Descriptive
3. Interview Process and Group Discussion
These three steps are compulsory to qualify for both posts
4. Physical Standards - Hight, Weight, Eye Sight, Running, Weight Lifting etc.
This step is most necessary for IPS Officer
You will have to study hard if you want to seriously become an IAS or IPS Officer and you must give at least 15 hours for your study then you have full chances and if you will not take it seriously then you will not get the success.

For becoming an IPS or IAS officer,you have to clear the civil services examinations for which the minimum educational qualifications required is bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
So,friend first complete your bachelor's degree in your desired stream then think about civil services.
However as these examinations are very tough,so you need to start your preparation right from the begining of the bachelor's degree.You may join any good coaching institutes for the better preparation.
The age should be between 21-30 years for the general category.Relaxation of three years and five years is provided to obc and sc/st respectively.

IAS is Indian Administrative services exam . This is a state level exam and will be posted in all over India if you become a IAS officer.
