    You are a defense personnel so it's good to see your interest in Civil Service because you have served more for defense sector and wants to be in civil service after getting retired from that sector

    You are a central government employee and central government employees are eligible to claim for upper age relaxation while job or after job as Ex-Servicemen for 5 years that is according to the central government of India

    Minimum Age limit to apply for IAS examination is 21 years and maximum age limit is 30 years so if you are 30 years old then you will have to claim for upper age relaxation then only you will be able to apply for examination and according to upper age relaxation, you can appear for this examination till 35 years of age so do not let this opportunity go just like that and without taking advantage and use it in a right way

    Educational Qualification is also required by the board which is - Must be graduate in any discipline from a reputed institute or university and if you are pursuing final year of graduation or appearing for final year exam and awaited for final year result then also you can apply for civil service preliminary examination

    First of all you should take at least 6 separate hours everyday for study from your job then you will be able to complete study in a limited time because syllabus is more and you should have enough time otherwise not possible with a government job because there will be more responsibilities you have to complete that is why preparation may be effected so take time and you can start preparation
