AGE LIMITS FOR DIFFERENT CATEGORY , ARE LISTED BELOW :
> > FOR GENERAL CATEGORY : 21- 30 YEARS
> > FOR OBC : 21-33 YEARS
> > FOR SC/ST : 21-35 YEARS .
There is also limitation in number of attempts , these are as follows :
> > FOR GENERAL : 4 ATTEMPTS
> > FOR OBC : 7 ATTEMPTS
> > FOR SC/ST : NO LIMITATION .

the maximum age limit for a general candidate for upsc exams is 30 years,
for obc the maximum age is 33 years, for sc/st the maximum age limit is 35 and for pd category the maximum age limit is 40 years.

The eligibility criteria for IAS is :
1.You must be a Indian Citizen.
2.You must have attained the age of 21 years on 1st august of the year of exam and must not have exceeded 30 years of age.However age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC category and 5 years for SC/ST/PD category.
3.You must a minimum graduate from any recognised university.
The number of attempts is limited to 4 for General category,7 for OBC category and unlimited for SC/ST/PD.
Hence for general category the maximum age is 30 years
for OBC category the maximum age is 33 years.
for SC/ST/PD the maximum age is 35 years.
