Dear as for as my knowledge and experience is concerned that there is no risk for any candidate - Male or Female in the IPS selection procedure because the complete procedure is not so tough and if you have enough marks in the examination and if you are confident and fit and active then no one can stop you to be selected for the post of IPS because everything depends on your performance of written examination, interview process and physical & Medical tests so that you have to be prepared according to that test then you would be eligible to get the job of IPS officer in India and if you once get qualified in the prelims and mains examination then you should prepare for interview process and other physical tests and there is enough and 100% transparency in the selection procedure of the post and there is nothing more risky in this examination and selection procedure and you have to give your tests with confidence and accuracy and then everything else depends on the UPSC board that what they have to do after that so that you do not need to afraid of the selection procedure but till, you should make yourself strong according to the required physical and medical standards for a female candidate which are following as
Hight - 150 cm and 145 cm for ST category candidates
Chest - 79 cm and must have at least 5 cm of expansion
Eye Sight - Near vision should be - 6/6 or 6/9 for good eye and 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye and distant vision should be J 1 for good Eye and J 2 for worst eye and no color blindness
Ear : Good listening and normal ear cavity and frequency should be between 1000-4000 and hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels
Nasal : Candidate must not stammer during to speaking/talking/presenting
Female candidate should not be pregnant during to physical and medical standards test
All the best
