Friend, you are surely eligible for IES Examination. As it does not matter whether the candidate has obtained the degree in regular mode or correspondence/regular mode. UPSC has nothing to do with the nature and mode of bachelor degree obtained. Only the thing required that candidate must be in possession of any valid graduation degree from any recognised university. Apart from the educational qualification, candidate must satisfy other eligibilities conditions.
hi,if your University or College from where you have done Chemical Engineering in distance mode is recognized for Distance education for Chemical Engineering then you are eligible to apply for the IES(Indian Engineering Services) exam. The exam is conducted by UPSC every year.
but your Branch(Chemical Engineering) is not listed in the branch for which you have to write exam. So you are required to give the exam by choosing any one of the following four Branches of Engineering:
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
for IES your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 January of the year of exam . there is relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
You have to apply for the exam online on following official link of UPSC:
